Pain, anguish, depression, the inability to move, never going to get better…. Is this how people want to live? Is this how you would live? Many people believe that mercy killing is wrong, and there are those who believe that it should be allowed, but why? Mercy killing has been debated about for years, and still is being fought for and against to this day. The question is though; why should anyone have to live in pain when they know they will never get better? They know there is no more help for them; nothing can be done to help them except to lessen the pain for only a little while. Why should they have to suffer any longer? It should be up to the individual to decide when it is their time. Also, if prisoners are allowed to be killed, then why shouldn’t someone with a terminal illness have a choice? They go through more pain and torture than a murder convict does.
Many say that mercy killing is a religious thing, and that it is a sin. Well if God knows that it is your time to leave this Earth, then he will help you on your journey. If God doesn’t want you to die yet, I’m sure He will keep it from happening, correct? What about those who are not religious though? Most people do not take in account for what the other person feels, or even what their religion is, they instantly assume that they are doing the wrong thing.
Dr. Jack Kevorkian (Also known as Dr. Death) is one of the most infamous mercy-killers in the world. Although, he did not do the killing. He allowed the patients to decide for themselves. “In 1989, a quadriplegic, too handicapped to kill himself, publicly asked for assistance, and Dr. Kevorkian began tinkering on a suicide machine.” (http://www.nndb.com/people/272/000023203/). Although the quadriplegic was not the first to test his Euthanasia machine, Jane Adkins decided to be the guinea pig. She was a 54 year-old with Alzheimer’s, and couldn’t bear the pain anymore.
Those who have “Of Mice and Men”, a novel by John Steinbeck, know that there are two forms of mercy killing in there. The first form of mercy killing was the death of Candy’s dog. The dog was very old, had missing teeth, and could hardly move. The dog couldn’t see, couldn’t hear, and his fur was falling out. They ended up shooting the dog to put it out of his misery. The second form of mercy killing in this story is when George killed Lennie. Lennie George knew that if Lennie wasn’t going to be killed slowly and painfully by Curley and the rest of the migrant workers, then he would have been put into an asylum where he would’ve been treated even worse. George did the right thing by helping Lennie, unfortunately, he didn’t give him a choice.
The mercy killing which this lovely little article is about is mercy killing by choice. Mercy killing should only be preformed if the subject has a choice in the matter, and if they are suffering the last stages of a terminal illness, and are in unbearable pain. They know that they are not going to get any better no matter what, and they will be at peace when they are finished.

Pain is no longer unbearable. It can be medicated and depression can be treated. There is no justification for so-called mercy killing (or the death penalty, either, for that matter). Those who promote it usually have some other hidden agenda which they wish to disguise under the name of mercy. Alzheimer's is not painful to the patient, but it can be a pain in the neck to the caretakers. Insurance beneficiaries may get impatient. Hospital costs may be a factor. The inability to move? What about that guy who for 23 years was thought to be in coma but was conscious the whole time? Now he says he is enjoying his life. Yes, your essay is missing plenty because it only considers one side of the issue. Ethical objections outweigh even religious objections in this matter. Dr. Death is a nut case.

Pain, anger and depression are treatable conditions. However, pride and shame require long talks and I bet you think no one has the time to listen to your memories or you may be thinking you do not have enough money to buy the time you need and you just want to jump out of your seat because you are really afraid to live beyond perfect health. I've heard some stories in my day's but this one is special and you should hold on to your time and don't let anyone talk you out of it because it would save money if you jump. Don't jump, sit or walk or write if you can and stay until the end. Love

in my opinion i doesn't waste money on a fish taking him to the vet or attempting to make him better. in simple terms go away him on my own and observe if he receives over it or flush him and purchase your self yet another one. Its unlike you and the fish can fairly change into emotionally connected to at least one yet another, pass purchase you yet another one for 5 greenbacks.
