When did this become news, ie who is behind the story? I seem to recall that I first heard the story because Gen. David Petraeus commended the Dove World Outreach Center's plans to burn Korans to mark the anniversary of 9-11, but from recent reporting the timeline seems like it's been reversed.

The Gainsville daily newspaper is owned by The New York Times coporation. It covered a small story about the group. Then the Associated Press picked up on the story and put it on the news wire service. USA Today picked up the story off of the wire. Afterward Gen. Petraeus commented about it. And the next thing you know the group is known internationally from Japan to Brazil.

It's now not precise to mention that each one church affiliated humans react that means while wondered approximately their ideals. But if you are strolling into that plenty, facet of the main issue possibly the way in which you are posing your questions. Like this one, wherein you utilize loaded language just like the phrase "supernatural" that you used two times and "irrational." Maybe your church peers are opting for up on the truth that you're already at the offense approximately their ideals and so soar at the protection instantly. No fruitful conversation's gonna occur that means, dude. Also, might be the churchy humans you talked to had been simply immature and insecure of their religion. Not all church goers are, even though.

Part of it is the news media seizing on the story. Part is the reaction from muslims. Part is the reaction of the Federal Government. Part is the planned center to honor the killers of 911 attack in New York. All the factions are getting excited on the 9 year anniversary of the attack.
